Learning by Copying

In my class at the JCC Bayonne we are learning by copying. The students have chosen all different Master Portraits to copy. This is my finished demo. Thanks to the Staten Island Museum in 2011 I saw in person two paintings of children, a brother and sister by Late 19th-Early 20th cetntury Staten Island artist Adeline Albright Wigand. I immediately fell in love with them and have used them as inspiration in many of the commissioned children's portraits I have done recently.
I finally got the opportunity to copy one of them...even though I worked from a terrible photo I took of the real work at the exhibition.

Below is a  quick light on form demo with payne's gray, raw umber and titanium white.
