Inspirations
Since my last post I have been sketching and gathering inspirations. I am very much interested in paisley patterns. I feel like their lush and complex nature would be just the way to go as far as incorporating actual patterns into my Baby paintings. Paisley makes sense as well because of its history. I believe it originated in Kashmir and Persia. It almost fits perfectly into all my thoughts on "human" patterns. I am not quite ready to start making new Baby paintings yet though. I think a bit more sketching, a bit more searching. I also have to figure out how I want to incorporate these patterns into the work. Will it be faint in the backgrounds, will it move from background to foreground, will it layer over the figures and if so how much? Will I actually paint these patters or use some kind of collage effect, or both? How much color will the patterns have? How will the color of the patterns relate or not relate to the figure? Still lots of questions. I will have to keep experimenting on a small scale and then maybe....soon!
